More than 100 years of experience and tradition makes Taylor Morrison unique among homebuilders. Created in 2007, Taylor Morrison Inc. combines the former U.S. homebuilders Taylor Woodrow and Morrison Homes into a single company, continuing the passion and commitment to quality begun more than a century ago by two young Englishmen, George Wimpey and Frank Taylor.

Our unparalleled lineage in homebuilding starts with George Wimpey, who parlayed a successful stone mason’s business into a company that would become an international power by World War II. By 1921, then 16-year-old Frank Taylor had begun constructing homes in Blackpool, England, launching a company that, along with Wimpey, would play major roles in the building of many international projects, including the Chunnel, as well as establishing each company as an industry leader on the homebuilding front.

Each man’s legacy was carried into the next century by companies that carried their names and included worldwide operations in construction, land development and, of course, homebuilding. In the U.K., George Wimpey and Taylor Woodrow entered 2007 with similar operations that included North America and in June of that year, these two outstanding organizations came together to form Taylor Wimpey, creating overnight the largest homebuilder in the U.K. and the third largest homebuilder in the world.

With the marriage of the parent companies came the integration of the U.S. operations under the banner of Taylor Morrison – a new brand that will honor the traditions and entrepreneurial spirits of each company’s founding father. The legacy that lives on in Taylor Morrison is one of innovation, customer satisfaction and design excellence encompassing numerous industry firsts, visionary project development and brave leadership. Today, more than 280 Taylor Morrison communities are currently under construction in the United States, drawing accolades from homebuyers and independent consumer groups alike. With numerous awards from J.D. Power and Associates, consistent top 5 finishes in customer satisfaction surveys and a Builder Magazine Hall of Fame induction, the company’s commitment to excellence can be measured by its ranking as the 15th largest homebuilder in the United States, with communities in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Texas.

In Canada, the company operates under the Monarch brand, founded in 1917 and one of the country’s oldest and largest real estate companies.
